The name Saradi is a tribute to the legendary Madan Sara, the tenacious market women of Haiti. Named after a bustling, fast-moving bird, the Madan Sara is the quintessential enterprising woman, the backbone of the country's informal economy. These resilient micro entrepreneurs are responsible for transporting, distributing, and selling nearly all local goods, from farm to market.
They are symbols of courage, ingenuity, and relentless economic independence, often navigating treacherous conditions to feed and support their families. They embody the very spirit of grassroots enterprise and self-determination that RADIKAL champions.
